When I opened the tie room to pick out today’s Bow Ties/Ties o’ the Day, I noticed I’ve made a bigly dent in the unworn Christmas ties. Whew! I wasn’t sure I could wear and display every last beauty. Bow Tie on my neck shows A CHRISTMAS STORY’s BB gun and “You’ll shoot your eye out!” The Christmas tree balls tie boasts the only “bad” word I ever heard Dad utter. When something went wrong for him, out came his “BALLS!” 🤣 😜 🏀
I Wonder What Ties/Bow Ties Wanna Drink
Neckwear o’ the Day reminds us that we must be selective in choosing which holiday parties/events to attend. I don’t partake of alcohol anymore, but I have yet another drinking problem: what to drink at a party. Diet Coke doesn’t give a buzz, and I’m not into punch, sparkling cider, or virgin eggnog. Eggnog is so sweet it’s only good for two swallows—about as much as a shot glass holds. Hey, that’s how I can use my decade-dusty, old shot glasses. 🥛 🥃 🍷
But Skitter’s Got Us And The Tie Collection
I’m not warm. Thus, tropical Ties o’ the Day. I want a sandy beach, not iced snow. Bow Tie o’ the Day displays holly. And my other Tie o’ the Day has Santa offering us candy canes, holly, and mistletoe. Kiss, kiss. Guess who’s begging for kisses all day, despite no mistletoe around? That would be Skitter, who is trying to adjust to life without her Roxy. A birthday party this evening, celebrating her 4th anniversary with us might cheer her. I sure hope so. 🎂
Clash O’ The Tie-tans
Yup, this is swelleriffic clash fashion comin’ at ya. I feel 3-D in this get-up! Bow Tie o’ the Day displays a herd of noggin-warmin’ Santa hats, while Tie o’ the Day’s candy canes rate my worthiness from the past year. I admit I was NAUGHTY at times. And I had moments when I was completely NICE. But I can live with the I TRIED assessment. However, since returning from St. George, I’m too tired to even TRY. For an old dame, Mom is exhausting.
Tie-countin’ Contest Results
Y’all threw out fine guesses about how much holiday neckwear I hauled down to St. George with me for my 8-day Mom-cation in the sun. I took oodles! Guesses ranged from 30-127 pieces. While south, 2 bow ties and 9 regular ties were worn/posted. 8 bow ties and 24 ties did not get worn/posted. So the number I originally packed in the bin was 43. Suzanne’s guess was dead-on, but that just proves she cheated, even though she swears she didn’t. Closest guess came from the gorgeous, Gina Diaz, who guessed 42. 🥇 🏆
My Lucky Bow Tie Has A Day On The Town With Mom
Bow Tie o’ the Day—with its strings o’ Christmas lights—is wondering why I look forlorn while I’m gleeful. Mom’s fave place to eat is wherever she’s eating. Here, we’re at Red Lobster, after she just got her hair did. Ron’s granddaughter, Jaydin, is Mom’s Vonnie/Kaye since Mom moved her hair to Dixie. Getting her locks coiffed by a great-granddaughter, and then gorging herself on lobster and shrimp….well, for Mom, that’s a superbly spent day. Now she’s snoring on the couch. 💇 🍤 🛋 😴
50 Years Of Love And Neckties
Today, to celebrate their 50th Anniversary, my sister, Mercedes (Betty), and her husband, Nuk (Kent), display their kissing Ties o’ the Day, while they themselves steal an anniversary smooch. Me and my ties/bow ties didn’t ask them to snap and send us this anniversary tie selfie, but TIE O’ THE DAY is such a glamorous, famous website that Mercedes just had to make her claim to fame by sending this pic my way. We’re elated y’all stuck together like velcro this long. Good on ya!
Let Another Tie Game Begin!
Ties/Bow Ties o’ the Day want to get you guessing again. Mom is dreamily counting the tie-critters in their storage bin, to satisfy her curiosity. She wants to know how much neckwear I brought for my week in St. George. Go ahead and guess just how many ties/bow ties accompanied me. Hint: Remember I’m trying to wear 3.28 pieces per day. And my Mom-stay is a total of 8 days. But you know I absolutely brought extra ties/bow ties with me. Just in case. 🤔 👔 🤵
Christmas Ties Are What Friends Are For
Oh, happy Ties o’ the Day! Mom’s “favorite daughter,” Judie Curtis, came to visit her. Judie brought us insanely decadent treats to gobble. Mom and Judie are long-time pals; and for years, Judie has kept a room for Mom in her home, so they could have good ol’ sleepovers. Judie’s husband, Ward, has even become Mom’s “favorite son.” BTW I got my first name from Mom, of course. And I got my middle name, Eileen, from Judie’s mom. The ties think that’s wild! 🎀 🎁 🍪
Ties Are In Mourning, As Are We All
Suzanne and I held Roxy as she calmly fell into her Big Nap earlier today. We’re in a haze of shock and loss tonight. Mom took it quite hard, as well. Skitter’s been searching the house for her Roxy Lou. Here’s Skitter sporting a holiday Snoopy Tie o’ the Day, cuz she needs some kind of pup to cuddle with in her new bed. How is it that our family is one soul lighter tonight, but our hearts feel so much heavier? 💔
