It was serendipitous that Bow Tie o’ the Day p.m. was covered in eyeglasses, or it might not have discovered this snail on the sidewalk as–like the pioneer children–we walked and walked and walked and walked and walked through Centerville tonight. Bow Tie was so transfixed by the slimy thing that I didn’t have the heart to tell it the creature was dead. Escargot, anyone? 🐌
Me And My Possessions Get Along So Well
Ain’t Nobody Wanna See That!
Bow Tie o’ the Day #2 went for a walkie with us this evening. Some thoughtless canine owner hadn’t cleaned up its mutt’s droppings in the park. Bow Tie jumped right into action with a bag from the Pet Waste Station. My elementary school librarian, Mrs. Crafts, always said to “Leave the library cleaner than you found it.” Bow Tie has learned that it’s a fine idea to follow that rule in nature too. I am so proud o’ my Bow Tie’s adoration of the natural world!
I Hope I Have Enough $ To Send The Ties To College
Tie o’ the Day #1 is a phenomenal reader. Here, Tie is reading Volume 5 of THE OXFORD ENCYCLOPEDIA OF ANCIENT GREECE & ROME. Tie is soon gonna be smarter than I am. Note that Tie is reading on its tummy, on the living room floor–like we all read as kids. And another genius thing about ties is that they can be their own bookmarks! See the photo below. 📚📖
It’s Like Finding A Tie In A Tie-stack
Here is Tie o’ the Day’s dilemma: Although Suzanne likes my ties…and although she likes me to wear them…and although she knows I have been collecting neckwear for 30 years, she has never seen all my ties gathered together in one place at the same time. Geez, I haven’t seen ’em all together until now either, since they’ve spent their lives scattered between many closets in two houses. Now that we will inhabit a single house, how and where can I hide my precious neck cargo, so Suzanne doesn’t get scared when she comes face to face with clots of ties? And how can I do it before she gets home from work in a few hours? 👔 😫😧
No, I Really Can’t Tell You What I’m Mailing
Tie o’ the Day is actually #’s 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. It’s errand day up here on the Wasatch Front. First, I had to pick up this neckwear from the dry cleaner’s. Even ties need a steam bath on occasion. Next, I’m post office-ing. I have to mail the funniest thing I have ever sent anyone. And it’s killing me that I can’t tell you about it. If I did (and I am so tempted), I would be banished to sleep with the dogs in their crate. 📪 After the hilarity at the post office, I’m off to the bank to deposit about 300 one-dollar bills, from the yard sale. What a full day of happy happy, joy joy! I wonder what I’ll do after the 45 minutes it will take me to complete my errand list. 📋
Heeeeeere’s My Trophy Buck!
Tie o’ the Day #2 is draped over the antlers of the one deer I kinda killed. I didn’t have the whatever-it-takes to shoot this young Bambi, so I aimed high in order to miss. I believe Dad took a shot at the same time I did–to make sure I brought it down. He never missed a deer–including the deer he killed as he sat back on a ridge to take a shot and sat on a cactus. 🌵 Dad ‘dermied “my” “California 2-point.” 🦌 I think he knew I wouldn’t want to hunt again. But I think he wanted to give me something to help me remember the understanding we came to on that day. Plus, those are basically jackalope antlers! And that’s just funny.🤡
My Bee Tie At Our Birthday Lunch For Dad
Tie o’ the Day #1 went with me and Suzanne to a Birthday Lunch for Dad at J & J Sapor–a new and good-fooded restaurant in Farmington. Dad didn’t show up, so Suzanne told me to give her one of my “Dad faces” for this photo. Of course, I had to go with his mustache-and-beard face. That’s how I will always see Dad in my heart and in my dreams. 🍰☕️🎂
One Tie Is Good. Two Are Better.
Tie o’ the Day presents the fabulous-ness of my big brother, Ron. He wears my father’s name well. He wears ties well too, although in this photo he is stretching the boundaries of tie-dom, by wearing not just one, but two pairs of glasses as ties. This is a bold and daring fashion move. Like all of the caring and classy moves he makes, he accomplishes this image well. You da bro, Ronald!🕶👓
I Can’t Believe Dad’s Been Gone For A Decade🐝🦌
Our red Bow Tie o’ the Day #1 has a purty Western-style hanky design. (Yes, I’m wearing Bow Tie sideways on my neck for this pic.) Dad always had a raggedy red or blue hanky like this in the back pocket of his standard striped overalls–like the pair I’m wearing in this pic. I got this bee tattoo 🐝 in honor of Dad, about six months before he went to The Big Deer Hunt In The Sky. 🦌🦌 He died at 77. Told me he’d had 75 great years, but that the last two weren’t worth 💩.
